Public Area Attendant

Location: Vail, CO

The Sonnenalp is looking for a Full-Time Seasonal Public Areas attendant to join the Housekeeping team!

Application Deadline: Hiring will occur on a rolling basis. Applications will be accepted until May 15th, or until the position is filled.

Wage: $20.00 - $22.00 /hour

Primary Purpose of Position

To ensure the cleanliness, organization, and overall presentation of the Spa and Hotel public areas, supporting a welcoming and elevated guest experience. This role is responsible for maintaining assigned common areas to the highest standards while assisting the Housekeeping team with daily operations. Through attention to detail, proactive service, and a hands-on approach, this position helps create a clean, comfortable, and well-maintained environment for both guests and employees.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the cleanliness of the Spa & Hotel common areas
  • Manage the delivery of robes and other guest request items
  • Check the pool and spa area, ensuring that the linen is stocked and the area is clean and neat
  • Clean hallways, dust, vacuum, and check stairwells for cleanliness.
  • Ensure hallways are clear of laundry carts, vacuums, and that armoires are closed properly.
  • Transfer clean/dirty robes, towels, sandals, and linen items to laundry.
  • Remove all trash
  • Replace the cushions' linen
  • Clean windows, floors, doors, furniture, paintings, etc.
  • Replace fruit baskets
  • Clean restrooms and replace any supplies.
  • Ensure closets are stocked with linen for the next day.
  • Remove recyclable material and place it in designated areas
  • Adhere to Sonnenalp and LHW standards and use the guest's name at all times
  • Clean office and administrative areas
  • Help with various housekeeping or laundry duties as needed
  • Report broken or non-working items in the public areas to Engineering
  • Ability to work alone, but with constant interaction with other hotel employees and guests

Education/Experience

  • Minimum 16 years of age
  • Prior housekeeping or turndown experience desired
  • High school diploma or GED preferred

Special Skills/Equipment

  • Duties are performed alone, but with constant interaction with other hotel employees and guests
  • Must work as a team player with housekeeping staff and other departments
  • Ability to work independently at times and take initiative to accomplish tasks
  • High level of attention to detail

Essential Physical Requirements

This role involves demanding physical abilities, including but not limited to:

  • Must be able to stand for the duration of the shift
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry a minimum weight of approximately 25 lbs and have the ability to carry up to 50 lbs of heavy linen
  • Ability to kneel, bend, crawl
  • Ability to work in confined spaces
  • Ability to tolerate exposure to dust and cleaning chemicals
